Manipulated photographic on paper
19 x 14 cm
This series of photographs, which once represented urban landscapes, emerged from the random nature of an irreversible accident. After this phenomenon occurred, the surrounding humidity provided me with the opportunity to manipulate them through the printing technique, which involves transferring ink and some figurative details from one surface to another, imparting a new and abstract visuality. Photography is the mimetic portrait of an instant of objective reality. Using it as an expressive medium, considering a chain of unpremeditated events, allows me to reflect on and embrace “chance” to raise awareness of the ephemeral nature of things, including our own existence.
