Divinidad falaz / False divinity
Mixed on glass
55 x 53 cm
A circle painted on transparent glass, mounted in front of an opening or hole, in such a way that a real scene can be seen diffusely behind the piece. I assume that glass is a delicate material in all its aspects, from its physical composition to its sensuality, that although it marks a distance between the observer and the observed, it idealizes and shows existing scenes. In my conception, every scene or object that is behind a glass is unique, sublime. When this refined material is intervened by painted circles, crammed with juxtaposed stains, preventing the observation of a real space or image. In my opinion, it creates a false image of what the glass really encourages you to see. The circle can evoke numerous concepts, among them the most common are, perfection, heavenly, earthly. Hence, False Divinity, (you only die once and live every day), a phrase that is very well wrapped up in the reflection that I intend to carry out, relying on these concepts, to allude to how false expectations or visualizations of the world stage. How the essence of the gesture of living is lost between screens. Generating as a necessity, creating a false image to the satisfaction of the self, fading in time the various nuances that reality fosters. That said, the recollection that is taking place has made us question the authentic existence of the world, taking up the characteristics of our origins and positioning ourselves in new angles of life.
