Where are we going? Shot in November 2019, The Crossing presents a surreal moment at ahistorical crossroads in HongKong's Yau Ma Tei district. In the image,the empty streets reflect the city’s desolate atmosphere,making the central figure’s semi-transparent body appear like a spirit. Yet the glittering light that conceals the face of the figure seems to suggest a yearning for hope amid despair. The work captures an ambiguous state lingering between a sense of loss in life and a longing for the future.
