From photographs manipulated digitally and pictorially, my work materializes. An aesthetic discourse, where I use snapshots as a documentary element, to cast a tense reflection on memory and individual memories. A sample that is articulated as a kind of trial, experiment on the associative and comparative capacity of the subject. The creative process starts from the juxtaposition of images of transcendental places inside and outside of Cuba, I recreate a supposed ideal space, where past and present coincide in an idyllic terrain and that functions as a reservoir of the best accumulated experiences and memories. The final work is a totally decontextualized photograph, in which I intervene with pictorial materials to emphasize the space-time manipulation to which I have subjected these documents. A visuality that moves between the abstract and the neo-figurative. Paradoxes, ruptures, mistakes and bizarre mixtures that the (re) construction of memory goes through. The multiple photographic and pictorial layers are a kind of superimposed present, a reflection of the functioning of memory and an emphasis on the temporal relationship that acquires meanings based, not on a chronological order, but on a hierarchical and selective basis. I develop a seductive mechanism for the (re) invention of experience: ambiguous, blurred images, but to which the viewer feels attracted. I am interested in making an archeology of the present, acting on imaginary layers; thus I overcome the habitual link with time and provoke other readings of reality. All these modes of fusion and relationship, the interest of blurring the limits of life, of making the distant become close and the everyday enlarged, of making it easier for each person to be an actor in this story, start from the globalized and multicultural social substratum. that conditions the world today.
