Nueva identidad /New identity
Graphite on paper

We all have our masks, we are all part of a game where the real is confused. COVID-19 and art have had points in common; one has been in charge of bringing human fear to light, and art has transmuted into codes the entire process of internal rupture of the creator and / or recipient of the work. New Identity, aims to unmask the entire ritual of 2020, distant, insomniac, prisoners of our own identity that causes a new illusion of SELF. How would it be if we could not have more those emotional ties that characterize us so much, be it a hug, a handshake, or a simple kiss on the cheek; and walk like strange and unrecognizable beings. I think we would never be free at all, just prisoners in our own body. We would be looking for a non-existent freedom, and we would have to accept that reality that would slowly consume us. In this triptych drawn in graphite, that world is shown in black and white; that world that many of us would be afraid to think that one day we could live it. The graphite drawings offer the possibility, in my case, of showing a sobriety that adapts very well to these times of seclusion in which we hide. I use my own body and thus, as in a self-flagellation, I put my portrait as an artistic object, in which my way of life also depends on a new identity created by the lines. The black and white of the drawing presumes a chromatically limited world, where the inhabitants of the planet have identified ourselves in this crisis, which has not only been material but has also manifested itself in the spirit and in the concept of existence as a human race.
