I created the painting which I've entitled Near Drowning as a way to describe the constant internal and external battles Black people endure due to racism and false ideologies in America. The painting tells a narrative of a Black male figure, who almost drowns while battling an abstract form of water. This narrative describes how overwhelming the constant battles can be that Black people have to fight. Instagram | @coreylives_
