>scroll down for English version< Après avoir travaillé ensemble pendant plusieurs années, Vladimir Palibrk de « Street Art Residencies », l’Institut français de Serbie et quelques artistes serbes et français ont formé un groupe pour l’exposition « Co-travelers » (compagnons de voyage). Palibrk avait en tête un concept d'exposition et a été soutenu par l'Institut. Il a invité 4 artistes à le rejoindre pour cette production et ils ont tous été accueillis au Musée d'art contemporain de Voïvodine. Le concept de l'exposition tourne autour des animaux qui ont joué un rôle important dans la société humaine. Lorsque ces animaux sont des « héros », des pionniers, des animaux de sauvetage ou utilisés durant les guerres, leur statut n'a jamais été remis en question. La question devient plus épineuse lorsque l'on pense aux animaux qui sont utilisés comme nourriture, comme sujets de test à des fins médicales ou cosmétiques, ou envoyés dans l’espace. TKV, Polar Bear, Sanja Stojkov et Aleksandar Bunčić ont relevé ce défi et ont choisi les animaux qui étaient les plus intéressants pour raconter des histoires. Polar Bear est connu pour sa série représentant les espèces au bord de l'extinction et il a donc décidé d'utiliser le même sujet pour cette exposition, tandis que TKV a choisi les animaux qui sont utilisés comme sujets de test. Stojkov a choisi de présenter des chiens célèbres. Bunčić avait un large choix d'animaux, mais a décidé de présenter les rats qui ont apporté la peste en Europe et dévasté sa population à plusieurs reprises au cours des siècles. Le pochoir était la technique commune à tous les artistes, mais les matériaux sur lesquels ils peignaient à la bombe étaient différents. Ils utilisaient des toiles sans cadre, des matériaux prêts à l'emploi, des matériaux recyclés, etc. Toutes les œuvres d'art ont été réalisées exclusivement pour cette exposition. After working together for several years Vladimir Palibrk from Street Art Residencies, French Institute in Serbia and a couple of local and French street artists have formed a critical group for the exhibition Co-Travellers. Palibrk, who had a concept for the exhibition, was supported by the French Institute, and he invited four artists to join him in the production and, finally, they were all welcomed at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Vojvodina. The exhibition concept revolves around the animals that play significant roles in human society. Whether these animals were “heroes”, pioneers, war animals, or rescue animals, their status was never questioned. The matter becomes more complex when we start thinking about the animals that were and are being used as food, as test subjects for medical or cosmetic purposes, or when they are astronauts. TKV, Polar Bear, Sanja Stojkov and Aleksandar Bunčić have accepted this as a challenge and have chosen the animals that were the most inspiring for telling stories. Polar Bear is well known for his series of portraying animals on the verge of extinction, so he decided to mostly use the same topic for this exhibition as well, while TKV chose animals that are being used as test subjects. Stojkov chose to present only famous dogs and Bunčić had an array of animals but also chose to present rats as animals that brought plague to Europe and devastated its population many times over the centuries. Stencil was a common technique used by all artists but the materials they spray painted on were different. They were using canvas without a frame, ready-made, recycled materials and so on. All the artworks were exclusively made for this exhibition.
