Human Trafficking is a form of modern slavery that occurs in every state that has been an issues for many years. People have traded human lives into profit. More awareness is needed to be brought up into the world not only to stop human traffickers, but to stop the individuals who are allowing, supporting, or even controlling the work force that is enabling human trafficking. It hurts the lives of the victims and is a serious crime that is continuing to increase throughout the United States. Human trafficking is reported as the 2nd most profitable crime in the world. Traffickers annually profit $150 billion from exploitation of children, women, and men. For my exhibit I am presenting details on how to build more awareness on my social issue by educating indivdulas on how to look for human trafficking signs in everyday life, how to handle the situation and where to get help when signs of human trafficking are shown. Operation Underground Railroad is an organization that helps rescue individuals who are trapped in human trafficking and help capture traffckers. O.U.R has designed an hour long training course that helps educate individuals about human trafficking and to bring an end to it. No one is immune to human trafficking. This crime affects those from every socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity and background.
