The programmable digital artwork titled "Athena and Buddha" explicitly reflects Tsai’s artistic style of mixing Chinese and Western elements over the past few years. Guanyin is in Athena's body while Athena is in Guanyin's body. The artistic meaning is obvious: "You’re among us and we’re among you”. Relationships are not necessarily hostile and exclusive. Actively seeking for common ground interests; reducing unnecessary disputes, and coexisting harmoniously are the kingly way. With Tsai’s ingenious design, the images of the east and the west represented by Athena and Guanyin are switched in real time according to the exchange rate of the Hong Kong dollar against euro. Under the blessing of the "Goddess of Wisdom" and the "Four Great Bodhisattvas", Tsai hopes that the audiences are able to have some spiritual comfort in the fickle environment. Similar to the fragmented bodies of Athena and Guanyin in the work, yet they can still be recuperated. Even if there is a bit of "incompleteness”, it can still be understood as a new kind of beauty.
