The lifecycle of a fast fashion product is notoriously short. Each year an astronomical number of fashion object materials are produced, purchased and consumed, shortly before turning into wastes. Inspired by an investigation into digital materiality and its relations to climate, this digital material installation conceptualises the temporal states of novel biodegradation of a garment. By combining algorithmic shape generations, the 3D artwork visualises the shifting tactile landscapes the biological growth and degradation of bio organisms, informed by the physical behaviours and patterns in the featured living systems’ lifecycles.
