Drawing of the Iberian inscription in lead (side A)

27.2 x 15.4 cm

Photo Archive

This lead sheet with Iberian inscription on both sides was found rolled up, and with the name of the recipient visible. It is, again, a private letter of a commercial nature, written by Basir-Tir on behalf of Neitin, and contains several commissions to be carried out, involving other individuals with Iberian names. The recipient's name, Katul-Atin, is an Iberian anthroponym, but with Celtic roots, and may correspond to an Iberian merchant present in Emporion. Source: E. Sanmartí-Grego 1988, fig. 3
