Archaeological research, from 1908 until today, has revealed the urbanism of the main nucleus of the Greek city, which today we call the Neapolis, and which always preserved the character of a port enclave. Most of the remains that we can see today date from the important transformation of the city in the 2nd and 1st century BC, already coinciding with the Roman presence. Photo: M. Bataller / MAC Archive
