DISCOVER. CONNECT. COLLECT. VOLTA is a contemporary art fair dedicated to creating an environment for art collectors to discover the art of now, connect with galleries and grow their collection. We support galleries with an international breadth to present ambitious presentations of up-and-coming and established artists. Their work reflects the changing world that we live in and asks us to discover a new perspective. VOLTA - Italian word for “turn.” In a sonnet, a volta is a rhetorical shift or dramatic turn of thought, argument or emotion. OUR STORY VOLTA debuted in Basel in 2005 as a collaboration between dealers and friends. The fair quickly grew into a platform that supported ambitious international galleries to participate in the art markets’ major cities. VOLTA New York shortly followed in 2008. Throughout its life, VOLTA has responded to the external markets and ambition of our galleries. As a result, we present forward-thinking curations that hold a truly unique and international artistic dialogue for collectors to discover. VOLTA looks ahead to supporting our galleries and making our New York and Basel 2023 editions part of our most vibrant chapter so far.
