Sergio Sotomayor (Spain, 1976) is an artist and researcher, graduated in agricultural engineering. The synergies between the technical education and his reflexive concern, manifest in a visual and poetic language that exploring the intersection between art, science and technology. His work has been exhibited internationally and has received awards such as the prize for best emerging artist of the Madrid Association of Art Critics in 2008, award Photographica Estampa 09 and important residence and production grants from the Casa de Velázquez in Madrid, the Pilar i Joan Miró Foundation in Mallorca and from the AADK Spain.
Welcome to Concrete House .art which features curated pavilions and an exhibition of digital artists selected through an open call. The curated pavilions include Ars Electronica’s partners, .ART’s artist in residence Medina Kasimova and a selection of work from .ART’s and Arlekin Players Theatre’s collaborative project ZeroGravity.art, directed by Igor Golyak and featuring the renowned choreographer and actor Mikhail Baryshnikov. Concrete House .art participants join the space for playful reflections on the creation of virtual environments.
