Cuba

Biography

Graduated in Printmaking and Drawing from the Carlos Enríquez Academy of Visual Arts in Manzanillo, Cuba (2012). He is a member of the visual project Guajiros. He has held solo and group exhibitions both in Cuba and abroad and has participated in salons in his home province and international art fairs. Recently, he won first prize in the second edition of the MalaYerba competition, organized by the Fondo de Arte Joven (FAJ) and Fundación Los Carbonell / NG Art Gallery, held at the Salón Blanco Gallery in Havana. His work is part of private collections in the USA, Portugal, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, Senegal, and Kuwait.

CONVOCATORIA

El paisaje ha sido, y sigue siendo, uno de los grandes géneros de las artes visuales. Desde que adquirió autonomía, devino mucho más que mera representación del entorno natural; fue también recreación simbólica de estados emocionales y filosóficos. En la actualidad, el paisaje ha multiplicado sus implicaciones formales, estilísticas y conceptuales, y dialoga con un contexto cada vez más marcado por el impacto de las nuevas tecnologías. Para la octava edición del concurso Prisma, que también servirá como exposición paralela de la XV Bienal de La Habana, ArteMorfosis se centra en el paisaje en el arte contemporáneo cubano.
