Ivana Samandova

I started my studies in 2016 at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje with mentorship of Slobodanka Stevceska. In 2020, I graduated from the Department of Painting, module Restoration and Conservation. Solo exhibition: 2021–“All The Little Things - Microcosm”, Museum of the City of Skopje for the award Borko Lazeski, Skopje, North Macedonia Group exhibitions: 2021– “31/31 Art Colony Galichnik” curated by Ana Frangovska, Mala Stanica, Skopje, North Macedonia 2020- "THE MARKET: who is afraid of the invisible hand, at night?”, curated by Vladimir Janchevski, Green Market, Skopje, North Macedonia. 2019-Exhibition on human trafficking "Not your toy!", led by the curator and author of the project Angela Vitanovska, Kora Gallery, Skopje, North Macedonia. 2019-"Post-truth, desire", organized by Ivana Samandova and Angela Savevska, Faculty of Fine Arts, Skopje, North Macedonia. 2019– Performance Orbis Pictus – „Go and Look“ with Tomash Zhizhka and Dragan Stojchevski, performance/presentation on site-specific practices, supported by the 44th MOT in collaboration with FRU, cinema in the railway station, Skopje, North Macedonia. Awards: 2021–Award “Borko Lazeski” in contract with the Museum of the city of Skopje and the Faculty of Fine Arts for innovative achievements in the painting department.

International Exhibition

The residency program in Zadar provided space and conditions for individual and collective creation and production of artworks, exchange of knowledge among young female artists and curators. That international program gathered young female artists from different countries, selected by six female curators form Europe and WB. Artworks created during the two-weeks residential program are an integral part of the collective exhibition in physical and virtual reality. The exhibition Women about Women, residential is a logical continuation of the project goals. Twenty-nine international female young artists made a various artwork, expressions on paintings, sculptures, installation in glass, textile, paper, videos, performance etc. It carries a strong message of female angle of creativity in the contemporary visual art and energy of youth and diversity. Heterogeneity of visual expression is an inevitable phenomenon of the modern age as well as the diversity of media in which or with which they are expressed. Diversity of approaching to the females’ identities is a logical artistic response to the live in the modern age.
