Dayron Giro

Dayron Giro, born in Havana in 2002, is a young graphic designer with a strong academic and self-taught background. He studied at the Vladimir Ilich Lenin Vocational Pre-University Institute of Exact Sciences and is currently pursuing his degree at the Higher Institute of Design (ISDi) at the University of Havana. He has complemented his education with various workshops and specialized courses, including visual identity with renowned international designers, as well as poster design workshops that engage with social and cultural themes. Professionally, he has served as creative director at Aimas Estudio since June 2023 and as a designer for Alma Mater magazine since February 2024. His career includes collaborations with numerous cultural projects and participation in both solo and group exhibitions, within and outside of Cuba. He has exhibited in venues such as Fábrica de Arte Cubano, Casa de las Américas, and the UNEAC Salón de Mayo, as well as international events in the United States, Mexico, and Ecuador. Giro stands out for his creativity and innovation in graphic design, with a particular interest in visual identity, illustration, and cultural projects. He is proficient in tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, Figma, and the Microsoft Office suite. His talent has been recognized in prestigious design competitions such as the International Poster Biennial in Mexico and the Taiwan International Student Design Competition. He is also a member of the international designer community UTOPIX CC and a collaborator with the project “La Jeringa.”
