Ava Tribušon Ovsenik

Slovenia

In 2021, I finished my undergraduate studies in visual communications at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana. I graduated summa cum laude and received special recognition from the University of Ljubljana. I am currently enrolled in MA Fine Art Printmaking program at the same Academy. In 2018, I attended a summer course Illustration Beyond the Page at Parsons School of Design in New York under the mentorship of professor Colin Mclain. In 2019, I participated in a Joint design summer school: Sensory Experience Design at Anhalt University in Dessau. The program was led by Masayo Ave, a founder of SXD.Lab - Sensory Experience Design Laboratory in Berlin. I finished my last year of undergraduate studies in 2020 at Berlin International University of Applied Sciences. The program was based on seminar work connecting architecture, visual communication, and product design students. I also had a chance to make two illustrations for publications 1granary and Aeffect created by students of Central Saint Martins. Last year I participated in the annual educational program Academia Nuts for young creatives at Ulay Foundation in Ljubljana curated by Foundation's director Hana Ostan Ožbolt, where I enriched my interdisciplinary work experience. I also continued my collaboration as a director assistant until recently. I have participated in numerous group shows including Transformation of Mythologies (2022) at The Slovenian Association of Fine Arts Societies, Grafično nasledstvo at MGBS - Mala Galerija Banke Slovenije (2022), and a solo final thesis show at Ulay Foundation Project Space in Ljubljana (2021).

Women about women II - Residential

International Exhibition

The residency program in Zadar provided space and conditions for individual and collective creation and production of artworks, exchange of knowledge among young female artists and curators. That international program gathered young female artists from different countries, selected by six female curators form Europe and WB. Artworks created during the two-weeks residential program are an integral part of the collective exhibition in physical and virtual reality. The exhibition Women about Women, residential is a logical continuation of the project goals. Twenty-nine international female young artists made a various artwork, expressions on paintings, sculptures, installation in glass, textile, paper, videos, performance etc. It carries a strong message of female angle of creativity in the contemporary visual art and energy of youth and diversity. Heterogeneity of visual expression is an inevitable phenomenon of the modern age as well as the diversity of media in which or with which they are expressed. Diversity of approaching to the females’ identities is a logical artistic response to the live in the modern age.
